View specificationsEgyptian heating firewood (legna da ardere) and natural charcoal for Italian importers: short Mediterranean transit, packs, documents and EUDR.
Italy is one of Europe’s largest users of wood for home heating, and a large part of its firewood (legna da ardere) is imported. With European gas prices at their highest level since 2022, more households are lighting their stoves, and distributors want stock in place before the coldest weeks.
Egypt sits on the same sea. Shipments from Egyptian ports to Genoa, La Spezia, Livorno, Naples or Salerno avoid the long route around Europe, which helps when a distributor needs to restock during the season rather than once a year.
Italian buyers usually specify log length, moisture and pack weight. Send these with your enquiry and the quotation confirms what the lot meets. We can supply APEX-branded packs or private label with Italian labelling.
Each shipment is accompanied by shipping documents, health certificates and a laboratory test report identifying the nature of the product. A phytosanitary certificate and any other destination-specific documents are agreed in the supply contract.
From 30 December 2026 the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) covers fuel wood and charcoal for large and medium-sized operators. Ask us for the origin and traceability information your due-diligence statement needs, and read our EU import guide for charcoal and firewood.
Italy is on the direct Mediterranean route from Egypt, one of the shortest sea legs into the EU. The exact schedule depends on the line and port and is confirmed in the quotation.
